Google Analytics tells us things like how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. We've turned on IP anonymisation, so we can't identify you personally. This one runs by default — you can opt out below.
The Meta Pixel tells us whether our Facebook and Instagram ads are actually working. It only runs if you say yes.
That's it. Two cookies, both explained above, both within your control. No data brokers, no advertising networks, no 600-item cookie list.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They serve various purposes, from remembering your preferences to helping website operators understand how their site is used. Some are essential; some are not. 2. Cookies we use

2.1 Google Analytics 4 (analytics)

What it does: Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors interact with our site — which pages are popular, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. We use this information to improve the site.

IP anonymisation: Enabled. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). We have a legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used so that we can improve it. Given that IP anonymisation is enabled and no personal data is used for advertising, we consider that this interest outweighs any privacy impact.

Cookie duration: Up to 14 months (rolling).

How to opt out: You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings.

2.2 Meta Pixel (advertising)

What it does: The Meta Pixel is a snippet of code provided by Meta (Facebook/Instagram) that helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising. It tells us, for example, whether someone who saw one of our ads on Facebook subsequently visited our website.

Lawful basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR; PECR Regulation 6). The Meta Pixel only activates if you give your consent via our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Cookie duration: Up to 90 days.

How to withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies for this site (the consent banner will reappear on your next visit and you can select Reject), or by using Meta's off-Facebook activity controls at facebook.com/off-facebook-activity.

3. Cookies we do not use

For the avoidance of doubt, we do not use any of the following:

Third-party advertising networks or programmatic ad exchanges
Data brokers or data management platforms
Social media tracking pixels other than the Meta Pixel described above
Fingerprinting or any other covert tracking technology

4. Managing your cookie preferences

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner will ask for your consent to advertising cookies (Meta Pixel). The banner offers two options: Accept or Reject. If you accept, the Meta Pixel will be activated. If you reject, it will not.

If you change your mind after making your initial choice, you can clear your cookie preferences by clearing your browser cookies for this site, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.
